Tribu Angola was formerly called Tribu Ambala and was founded by Rodrigo Geraga in 1973, making it one of the oldest tribes still participating in the Dinagyang Festival. The tribe’s name was changed to Angola in 1987. They were 4th Runner-up in 2000, 5th in 2002, and was adjudged as Best in Discipline in 2001, 2003, and 2005.
Choreographers are JN de la Torre, musical director Jhon Jhon Cruz, and with costume designer Francis Segovia.
The tribe is composed of 48 warriors, 12 back-up and 30 drummers.
