The Iloilo City government released the schedule of next year’s most anticipated tourism event.

Dinagyang 2012 with its theme, Beyond Awards, A Culture of Excellence, aims to showcase the development of the city through its most cherished values of community action, unity, preservation of heritage and culture and of course appreciation of local talent and skills.

Next year’s Dinagyang is expected to be more exciting, colorful and extravagant. The event also highlights Iloilo’s new icons: the Iloilo River Esplanade, new Iloilo City Hall, and string of urban development projects around the city.

“We will once again witness how Dinagyang lives up to its expectations as a model of best practice wherein the community unites and work together for the good of the city and the general welfare of the Ilonggos,” according to City Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog.
