Guimaras’ 2012 Manggahan Festival Schedule

It’s raining mangoes this summer at the beautiful island of Guimaras with its annual celebration of the Manggahan Festival. Started in 1993, the Manggahan Festival aims to showcase the the thriving Mango Industry of the province.

Varied activities are being showcased depicting the cultural and historical heritage, livelihood, myth and legendary stories portrayed in a cultural showcase, streetdancing and SINADYA (merrymaking). Spread over a weeklong schedule, promoting its products, services and milestones in an agri – trade fair/exhibits, food festival, special events, nightly shows and entertainments and Search for Mutya Ng Guimaras. Manggahan culminates in a grand showcase of cultural festivals in a bid to show the world that there is more to Guimaras than its sweet, fiber and pest-free mangoes.

Here’s the Schedule of the 2012 Manggahan Festival

April 10-14, 2012 – Manggahan sa Robinson’s (Robinson’s Place – Iloilo)

April 11, 2012 (1:30 PM) – Disco Derby Elimination (Robinson’s Place – Iloilo)

April 13, 2012 (5:00 PM) – Mutya ng Guimaras Fashion Show (Robinson’s Place – Iloilo)

April 15, 2012

  • 1st Mango Man Triathlon and Manggahan Fun Run (Raymen Beach Resort & Provincial Capitol)
  • Live Band (Food Court)

April 16, 2012

  • Opening Salvo & Street Dancing Competition
  • Opening Program and Opening of Agro-Trade Fair (Capitol Grounds)
  • 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM – Fiesta sa Manggahan – Fiesta Forum (GTIV Function Hall)
  • 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM – Disco Derby 2012 (Food Court Area)
