Business tycoon and Megaworld Corporation Chairman Andrew Tan is bullish on the economy and potential of Iloilo as the next boom city of the country. Citing accelerated expansion of the city in terms of market potential and economic growth, Megaworld Corporation is working full time to complete its largest flagship project outside Metro Manila, the Iloilo Business Park.

Located at the expansive 54-hectare estate property at the district of Mandurriao, Megaworld is building a new and world-class mixed-use commercial complex aimed at harnessing the potential of Iloilo and of Panay Island as the country’s next area of economic boom.

As of January 2013, Megaworld has revealed exciting plans and projects within the property that is now underway. Once completed, this sprawling district will ultimately deserve the title as the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) of the South.

Megaworld Launches its first luxury condominium project in Iloilo Business Park.

Situated in a prime location, with easy access from Iloilo Business Park to either Jaro and Mandurriao, the new condominium project called One Madison Place is expected to raise the level of condominium project development in the city. With its elegant style, spacious and well-designed units, Megaworld is raising the bar of condominium quality in Metro Iloilo. Here are the photos:

Richmonde Hotel and Richmonde Tower

The 4-Star Richmonde Hotel will be housed in a sprawling 12-Floor property dubbed as Richmonde Tower. A mixed-use property, the tower will contain available space for BPOs on its first 3 floors (total leasable space of 5,566 sqm) while the remaining floors will serve as the area for the hotel. Richmonde Hotel, in itself an international brand and recognized for first-rate service, is expected to boost the hospitality industry and standards in the region. It is expected for completion in 2014 and fully operational by 2015.

Marriott Courtyard Hotel

14 Storey Hotel with 300 guest rooms

International brand, Marriott, is also expected to boost the tourism industry in the city with its quality service and affordable rates. Courtyard by Marriott is another flagship project of Megaworld Corporation inside the MW-IBP.

Megaworld Center Mall

Department Store having 36,000 sqm of retail and shopping space

Expected to raise the shopping experience in Iloilo City, Megaworld Center Mall will be the region’s  first upscale and first stand alone mall outside of Metro Manila. The 4-level mall will be an exciting addition to the list of projects inside the park.

Festive Walk

Aimed to complement the up-scale shopping experience of Megaworld Center Mall, the park’s Festive Walk is expected to be the country’s longest shopping and dining strip at a length of 1.1 kilometers long with spacious 22 meter promenade. Another property development called Park Square is also touted to increase business and commercial activity in the area.

Iloilo Convention Center

Also located along the property’s main artery, the Megaworld Boulevard, is another major project aimed at transforming Iloilo City into a true convention hub in the region – the Iloilo Convention Center. The center will be situated at the 1.7 hectare property and will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. It is expected to hold a capacity of 3,000 seats. The project was unveiled last November 2012 and is a joint venture between MW, the Iloilo City Government, Senator Franklin Drilon, TIEZA, and the Department of Tourism. Expected for completion in 2015.

Office Towers / BPO Buildings

Two 4-storey BPO Buildings (A & B)
Total Leasable Space 15,300 sqm

Inside Megaworld’s IBP is expected to rise office towers to house BPOs, commercial establishments and more. With these projects, an estimated 25,000 jobs are up for grabs in Iloilo upon the completion of the park.

Megaworld Boulevard

IBP’s main artery, the Megaworld Boulevard, is a six lane highway connecting the passageways and streets inside the property. The boulevard used to be the runway of the old Iloilo Airport. This main thoroughfare connects the District of Molo to Benigno Aquino Avenue.

Updates 2013:

Another 9.7 hectare property adjacent to the IBP will be allotted for high-end subdivisions, boutique hotels, and other business establishments.
