Opening Salvo sparks Dinagyang Fever anew
When it rains, it pours. That’s how the cold weather greeted the hot support of the Ilonggos towards their favorite Ati Tribes when they showed a preview of their forthcoming performances for the Dinagyang 2013.
Downtown Iloilo City was virtually shut down as the main roads were closed in and around the judging areas and parade route, and as thousands of Ilonggos flocked to the streets to witness the opening of this year’s grandest tourism event.
The opening parade was opened by Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog together with the officials of the city government.
Every tribe have their gimmicks – from uniform costumes, same hair color and hair cut (Tribu Ilonganon’s warriors sported a moehawk cut with shades of red), and dancing with remix music.
So without further ado, let me introduce this year’s contingent tribes for the Ati Tribe Dance and Music Competition for the Dinagyang 2013:
Tribu Panayanon

Tribu Aninipay

Tribu Milagrosa

Tribu Angola

Tribu Salognon

Tribu Pag-asa

Tribu Ilonganon
All Ilonganon Ati warriors had moehawk hairstyle and dyed their hair red. =)

Tribu Molave

Tribu Atub-Atub
I was waiting for their sponsor’s very famous jingle to be played during the performance (may bargain, araw-araw!). =)
Tribu Buntatalan-on
Last but not the least… a very entertaining performance by this tribe with their amusing (modern) dance steps.
With the Dinagyang Week officially on, the whole city of Iloilo is now geared to unparalleled fun, merry-making, dancing, partying and more! Hala Bira!
