A Halloween like no other: Pavia’s Tigkaralag 2012

Submitted by on October 31, 2012 – 11:31 pmOne Comment

Dressed in hair-raising Halloween costumes in playful imagery of skeletons, witches, aswangs supported with grotesque make-up and props, Pavia’s Tigkaralag is perfect showcase of Filipinos’ traditions, culture and morals during All Soul’s day. In every act, choreography and make-up, there are clearly stories to tell – stories of forgiveness, battle of good and evil, and the inevitable triumph of God against darkness.

For 21 years, the Tigkaralag Festival of Pavia is a tourist attraction like no other. No other festival can come close to the originality and uniqueness of Pavia’s creativity and ingenuity. Clearly, a visit to Pavia during the last days of October would give your scare and excitement fix at this time of the year.

So without further ado, I present to you this year’s Tigkaralag Festival!
